A visit was made to INHERE campus by Mr. Vijay Jardhari and his team on 22/09/21. Since the 1980s, Mr. Jardhari has been active at the grassroot level with his sincere efforts for promotion of traditional seed varieties, organic agricultural practices and conservation of local agro-biodiversity through the famous ‘Beej Bachao Andolan’ or ‘Save the Seeds Movement’ in the hill regions of Uttarakhand. The team visited the Dunagiri region of Almora district and interacted with farmers on issues concerning agriculture and traditional seed varieties.
Mr. Jardhari and his team also met INHERE’s founder member, Mr. Bharat Bisht, and also visited the open-pollinated traditional seed bank at village Chinoni, Chaukhutia.
